Woodland Trust: We're Celebrating An Amazing One Million Trees Planted In February

We're celebrating an amazing one million trees planted in February.

We set ourselves an amazing challenge to kick start our year of tree planting for the Jubilee Woods project – to plant one million trees in February. And the great news is that we have achieved this in fantastic style with Dermot O'Leary planting a tree as a final celebration of this incredible feat.

We are not taking all the glory though. Luckily we've had a few supporters to help us on the way. We were honoured to have Her Majesty The Queen and Her Royal Highness The Princess Royal planting a Jubilee tree at the Sandringham Estate, Dame Judi Dench, Blue Peter, Kate Humble, BBC Winterwatch, Clive Anderson, Sam and Eve Branson but most importantly, thousands of children and adults across the country.

But our biggest support has been you. With your help and commitment we have enabled communities, schools and thousands of children to plant a million trees across the UK.

This is a great start to 2012 but one million trees is just the beginning. We aim to plant 6 million trees across the UK to celebrate Her Majesty Queen Elizabeth's Diamond Jubilee, create hundreds of Jubilee Woods and 60 special Diamond Woods and we still need your support.

You can plant a tree in your garden, attend a tree planting event near you, apply for a free tree pack, create a Jubilee Wood or simply make a donation. Whatever you do, you know you will be helping to create a lasting legacy for generations to enjoy.
