As part of the day, Cambridgeshire Libraries will be encouraging those that love their library to find out about ways they can help support the service. There are opportunities to sign up to be a library volunteer, join a library Friends group or donate a book.
Cambridgeshire County Council's Cabinet Member for Learning, Cllr David Harty said "We'd really like to encourage our residents to visit their local library - and join up if they are not already a member. Libraries across the county accept donations of used books in good condition - ideal at this time of year if you're having a clear out after Christmas. Residents can find out more about National Libraries Day celebrations by visiting our website www.cambridgeshire.gov.uk/libraries or looking on www.cambridgeshire.net
Local Bar Hill Parish Councillor Andy Pellew said "Libraries are a fantastic resource - especially in our community where it shares the building with that other great community resource; the Post Office. I'd encourage everyone to visit our local library not just on the 9th of February but whenever they can."
