Consultation On Marshall's Plans For Up To 1,300 Homes Underway

A public consultation on plans for up to 1,300 homes north of Newmarket Road, Cambridge, has been launched today (Friday, 3 January).

South Cambridgeshire District Council has begun the six week consultation after plans for the development, known as Wing, were submitted by Marshall of Cambridge.

Views on the planning application, which includes 40% affordable housing, a primary school, food store, sports pitches and play areas are now being invited.

To view the application visit www.scambs.gov.uk/content/cambridge-east, with comments by email, letter and online being encouraged. The plans can also be viewed at South Cambridgeshire District Council’s Cambourne offices, the Guildhall in Cambridge and East Barnwell and Central Libraries.

The Council has also sent around 5,000 letters to nearby residents and is contacting consultees, including local parish councils and neighbouring city residents’ groups.

The consultation closes on Friday 14 February.

Cllr Nick Wright, South Cambridgeshire District Council’s cabinet member for planning and economic development, said: “It is good to see Marshall have already carried out a fair amount of public consultation on their plans, but this is the first chance for residents to tell us what they think as part of the planning process. Please make sure you take up this opportunity as all views will be considered before any decision is made later in the year.”
