A14 Repairs To Various Sections Of The Carriageway

On behalf of the Highways Agency, I am writing to inform you of overnight repairs to various sections of the A14 trunk road and slip roads. The works will involve repairs to sections of the carriageway and renewal of road markings and studs.

The works will be carried out in 3 phases, with phase 1 scheduled to start on the evening of Tuesday 25 February. The working hours will be between 8:00pm and 6:00am.

All works are planned for weekday nights Monday to Friday, although we have included weekend nights in case of unforeseeable delays to programme.

Phase 1 J30 eastbound entry slip   25 February
During the works it will be necessary to implement an overnight closure of the eastbound exit slip road at junction 27 (Fenstanton) and eastbound entry slip at junction 30 (Dry Drayton). A signed diversion route will be in place for traffic wishing to exit or enter the A14.

Traffic will be diverted via the next available slip road to return.

Phase 2  J33 to J34 eastbound carriageway  26 February to 5 March
During the works it will be necessary to implement an overnight closure of the eastbound carriageway between junction 33 (Milton) and junction 34 (Fen Ditton). Traffic wishing to travel eastbound will diverted off the A14 at junction 31 (Girton Interchange) and via the M11, A505 and the A11 to re-join the A14 eastbound at junction 36 (Nine Mile Hill).

Phase 3 J33 to J32 westbound carriageway 6 - 21 March
During the works it will be necessary to implement an overnight closure of the westbound carriageway between junction 33 (Milton and junction 32 (Histon). Traffic wishing to travel westbound will be diverted off the A14 at junction 36 (Nine Mile Hill) and via the A11, A505 and M11 to re-join the A14 westbound at junction 31 (Girton Interchange). Access will be maintained for local residents between junction 36 and junction 33.

Access will be maintained at all times for Emergency Services.

CarillionWSP will endeavour to keep delays to a minimum and complete the repair work as quickly as possible but delays are expected and you should allow extra time for your journeys or seek alternative routes. We apologise for any inconvenience caused during these essential works.
