eCops: New Officers "Passing Out Parade" 18/07/2014

Twenty six new police officers will take part in a "passing out parade” to mark the end of their training.

The parade will take place on Friday, July 25, from 2pm at the Learning & Development Training Centre at Monk’s Wood, near Alconbury, on the last day of their 16 weeks of training.

The 26 new constables are the first intake of new officers for Cambridgeshire Constabulary since October.

Assistant Chief Constable Mark Hopkins said: "We are pleased with the recruitment of the new police officers.

"This is a really positive step for the community and helps Cambridgeshire Constabulary with making safety and protecting the public a main priority.

"I welcome the new police officers and congratulate them on completing their training.”

The officers, who will be posted across the county, will be inspected by ACC Hopkins. Friends and family will also be present for the parade.

The officers were presented with their warrant cards and sworn in at an attestation ceremony at the end of March.
